The City of West Covina has a search tool on their website that you can use to determine if you are in Council District 5.
The Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder has a voter registration verification tool you can use to determine if you are registered to vote and also the name you used to register to vote.
This will be decided by the voters as well. The ballot will ask two questions during the recall. One of them will be to decide if you want to recall Tony Wu and the other will be to decide who replaces him. Both questions are a simple majority but are separate questions. Tony Wu cannot be a "candidate" to replace himself.
1) "Shall Tony Wu be recalled (removed) from the office of City Council Member, District 5?", which is followed by a simple "Yes" or "No" option.
2) If Tony Wu is recalled (removed) from office, who would you like to replace him (verbiage is not exact) and then list the potential candidates that would have completed paperwork to be a candidate.
Elections laws prohibits any recall committee from working with or endorsing any candidates who are declared to be a candidate in the recall election. This means that the recall committee is not allowed to "support" any candidate and thus our ONLY goal is the recall (removal) of Tony Wu from office.
This is a question that is difficult to answer. The short answer is that we hope it can make it on the November 2024 ballot. The long answer is that there are numerous dates and deadlines that are part of this process and some of those dates have not been satisfied yet. As we complete various stages of this recall process we will have a better idea of when this will appear on the ballot.
